Our Impact on the Environment
We are committed to our part in protecting the planet
- Our chosen delivery partner, DPD, uses electric vehicles with a commitment to zero emissions delivery in 30 UK towns and cities, covering 25% of the UK population, by the end of 2023.
- 71% of our Fittleworth company vehicles are either electric or hybrid
- Our packaging is made from 100% recycled material
- 100% of our waste is diverted from landfill and 77.2% is recycled
- We are fully committed to the NHS Net Zero target including a compliant and operational carbon reduction plan.
We stand by our commitment to Environmental Stewardship
- Responsible Use: Environmental stewards recognise their impact on the environment and strive to minimize harm. They make informed choices to ensure the well-being of ecosystems and future generations.
- Protection: Stewards actively work to safeguard natural resources, habitats, and biodiversity. This involves preserving forests, wetlands, oceans, and other critical ecosystems.
- Conservation Efforts: Stewardship includes efforts to conserve water, reduce waste, promote sustainable agriculture, and protect endangered species. It’s about balancing human needs with ecological health.
- Sustainable Practices: Stewards adopt practices that maintain ecological balance. This might involve using renewable energy, practicing organic farming, or supporting eco-friendly businesses.
- Our People: At Fittleworth, our people are at the heart of everything we do. We look after our people so that they can look after our customers and ultimately, look after our business.Fittleworth conducts an annual employee survey to understand the sentiment around the business regarding job satisfaction, workplace culture, and environmental concerns.
Our Social Impact
Charity Committee
In 2023, we supported over 11 charities with £5,000 worth of donations. Our Charity Committee, run entirely by employees, is a creative and thoughtful enterprise, ensuring that we provide outside help – from donations to employee participation in charity events, as well as internal support such as talks from charities and organisations on a variety of topics.
Volunteer Days
Each Fittleworth employee is entitled to volunteer for a charity or cause of their choice for one working day per calendar year.

Fittleworth has been awarded Best Workplaces™ certification consecutively since 2022, and Best Workplaces™ for Women in 2023.
The Best Workplaces™ Awards recognise and celebrate employers of high trust, high performing organisations and brands. To be considered eligible for recognition, companies are required to meet a standard of accreditation. Once certified, each company undergoes a rigorous assessment of their culture. As a Dispensing Appliance Contractor working for the NHS, we support their Greener NHS Programme to deliver a net zero carbon emissions health service for the UK.
