Culture & Values

At Fittleworth, our work has a reach beyond the immediate task that may be in front of us. It has a real impact on our clients’ lives and directly contributes to their well-being.

Fittleworth staff

Our mission is to “To make life more rewarding and dignified for the people who use our services.”

Well beyond words on a page, our Mission is why our business exists: to improve the lives of those who use our services. Fittleworth is committed to listening to its clients, understanding their needs, and providing outstanding service.

Whether cutting a stoma bag, placing an order, or delivering products, if it brings value to a client, it makes what we do worthwhile.

Our work is also driven by a clear vision: “To grow and prosper as an independent, employee-owned company, and in the process, become better human beings.”

Our Immutable Principles—the foundation of our work—guide our conduct and are intrinsic to all we do. Our commitment to these Principles not only enhances the value we bring to our clients but also makes Fittleworth a great place to work every day.

The foundation from which we achieve our Mission and Vision, our Immutable Principles are:

Dignity of the Person

Our employees, indeed, all people, have dignity and intrinsic value independent of their work.

Regardless of our fundamental differences, we treat each other with respect.

We vigilantly strive to meet the needs of those who use our services. In the process, we make life more rewarding for our clients, and we become better human beings.

Service

We serve our clients, each other, and our communities, all with humility, compassion and perseverance.

Integrity

Integrity is at the heart of how we do business. At Fittleworth, the ethical way is the only way. We are open and truthful, treat others justly, and do the right thing even when difficult.

Stewardship

We have been entrusted with an independent and employee-owned company.

As stewards of that trust, we are guided by the policies and principles of our founder, John Dickinson Schneider, to ensure that JDS, Inc. continues in perpetuity as independent and employee-owned, and that as the company grows and prospers, it remains financially strong, and we make decisions based on the long-term best interests of the company.

The quality of our service is imbued with these values, which form our corporate culture. We believe this culture is an integral part of our success.

“I was drawn here by both the purpose and the people. The belief that success comes from looking after people and customers is evident in so many ways. We are a team that looks after each other and others. I love hearing from our customers, understanding their journeys and am in awe of their bravery. Everything we do is in service of them living their best life. I couldn’t ask for a more rewarding purpose than that.”

Tamsin Bradford, Customer Experience Director

“Our culture guides us in the quality of service we provide and the care with which we go about it, and it’s what makes Fittleworth such a special place to work. The warmth and welcome from associates were a huge draw to wanting to be part of the company’s future. It’s one of the rare companies where people do what they say they do, always putting the client's needs first.”

Suzanne Bridger, Sales and Marketing Administrator
